Pune, 18th April 2021: The central government on Saturday ( 17th April) declared that the price of the Remdesivir injection is being reduced. The order has been issued by the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilisers, Department of Pharmaceuticals, Member Advisor Vinod Kotwal, in which it was declared that the price of the injection has been reduced.

As there was a huge shortage of injection, it created panic among the people. Also, the injection has been sold for a higher price in the black market. The prices went up to Rs 35,000 and people were complaining about it from all over the country.

Considering this situation, the central government and production companies took a collective decision to reduce the price of the injection which will be 30 to 70 percent less than the current price. The order has been conveyed to all states and their drug authority, said the officials.

Mylan Pharma – Desrem – Rs 4800 – Rs 3400

Jubilant generics – Jubi – Rs 4700 – Rs 3400

Hetero healthcare – Covifor – Rs 5400 – Rs 3490
