Pune: NGO CYDA Starts Campaign “Yes 2 Vaccination, No 2 Ventilator”

Pune, 18th April 2021: A 22-year-old Pune-based NGO Centre for Youth Development Activities (CYDA), has started a campaign to support the Covid vaccination drive- “Yes 2 Vaccination, No 2 Ventilator”.
Under this campaign, volunteers interact with people, play audio messages, and volunteers also reach people door to door and urge them to wear masks and maintain social distancing. Vaccination awareness van reaches different parts of the city and slums to educate and inform about the vaccination drive and to break the chain of Covid infection.
“Yes 2 Vaccination, No 2 Ventilator” campaign so far has helped 1,185 people in getting vaccination in 8 different locations. A team of 20 young volunteers are engaged in this drive with a cumulative reach of 16,785 during the last 15 days. This campaign is also supported by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), local CSR support, and Covid Response Group.
Due to the surge in positive cases of Covid-19, CYDA continues to receive calls for Remdesivir, oxygen beds, etc. However, the Covid Response Group is very active now and the pressure on CYDA volunteers has considerably reduced. Covid Response Group, Secretary Mathew Mattham is giving hopes to minimize the spread. CYDA works with young people to empower them to improve the lives of marginalized in society.
Priya Kothari, the CYDA board member, says, “We want to achieve 100% vaccination to support government and medical staff to break the chain and want people to say Yes 2 Vaccination, No 2 Ventilators.”
