New Delhi, 18th May 2021: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has requested the Centre to cancel air services with Singapore with immediate effect. Kejriwal proposed that the new variant of Corona is found in Singapore and is being described as extremely dangerous for children.

If air travel between Singapore and India continues, then India is likely to face this new variant of Covid as a third wave. In such a situation, my appeal to the Central Government is that the air services from Singapore be cancelled with immediate effect. At the same time, work on vaccine options for children should be done on a priority basis.

In view of the new variant of coronavirus infection in Singapore, the government has announced the closure of schools and online studies have been started. Singapore has already warned about the new variant of the coronavirus, and it could have a detrimental effect on children. In such a situation, the Singapore government has prepared a plan to close schools as well as to give vaccines to all expeditiously.

Meanwhile, the government of Singapore has announced to close all primary, junior and secondary schools completely till May 28 as a precaution. According to Singapore’s Education Minister Chan Chun Singh, rapidly emerging variants of the virus can be harmful to children and can attack them.

The Center and the Delhi government should take a decision on the public interest petition filed regarding the demand for setting up an isolation centre with medical facilities for poor children of government schools. The bench of Delhi High Court Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh said that a decision should be taken on the petition of Mahatma Hazarilal Memorial Trust under law and order.

The trust claims in the petition that the majority of the population is failing to enforce the rule, as not everyone has room to keep corona-infected members separate. The petition seeks to create health care management facilities and isolation centres for children. And therefore the number of patients in the city hospitals is constantly increasing and the problem of family members has also increased.
