Israel's IT Will Help Pimpri Chinchwad

Pimpri, 1st July 2021: Pimpri Chinchwad city is developing in a planned manner. The city’s infrastructure was good and the exchange of Israeli information and technology would help make it a world-class modern city, said Israel’s Consul General Yaakov Finkelstein.

A three-member delegation from the Consulate General of Israeli in Mumbai visited Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) today. The delegation, led by Yaakov Finkelstein, included Sagi Eicher, head of the finance and trade department, and Perlini Vathore, trade officer of the finance and trade department. The delegation was welcomed by Mayor Usha alias Mai Dhore and PCMC Commissioner Rajesh Patil.

A joint meeting of the delegation and the municipal administration was held at this time. The meeting was attended by Deputy Mayor Hirabai alias Nani Ghule, A Ward president Sharmila Babar, BRTS Department Assistant City Engineer Shrikant Savane, Drainage and Environment and Engineering Department Assistant City Engineer Ramdas Tambe, Executive Engineer Sanjay Kulkarni, Chief Information and Technology Officer Nilkanth Poman, Information and Technology Officers Anita Kotalwar, Raja Don of CTO, Pankaj Londhe Nilesh Jain etc. were present.

The delegation was briefed about the geographical location of Pimpri Chinchwad city, infrastructure, various projects as well as projects and facilities planned under the Smart City Scheme. The city of Pimpri Chinchwad is developing rapidly. The growth of the information technology sector along with various industries is significant in this city.

Commissioner Patil said that the corporation is making efforts to create a new identity as an industrial city as well as a tourism and entertainment city. He added that effective solutions to the problems facing the city would be possible through Israeli advanced technology.

Consul General Finkelstein said Israel’s relations with India are growing. The exchanges taking place in various fields are an important part of this relationship. There are many similarities between the cities of Israel and the city of Pimpri-Chinchwad. CCTVs installed in Pimpri Chinchwad city makes it easy to monitor. The use of such technology for immediate response in case of emergency makes it possible to provide services to the citizens at a faster pace. The sustainable development achieved by the Corporation is commendable and the projects and initiatives implemented under the Smart City are also promising.

He also lauded the work done by the municipal administration during the Corona period. The advanced technology available in Israel will be beneficial to overcome the developmental challenges in the city of Pimpri Chinchwad. Effective use of technology in projects such as solid waste management, solar energy, electric vehicles, drainage, water purification as well as digital services need to be made available to the citizens. In this regard, we look forward to cooperating in various areas of the city, including the exchange of information technology between the city of Pimpri-Chinchwad and the city of Tel Aviv in Israel as a sister city, he said.
