Pune: September 3, 2021: A family from Wakad has been ostracised by the community for filling a divorce case in the court instead of Jaat panchayat. The family has been facing the exclusion for over last two years.

The case came to light after Andhshraddha Nirmulan Samiti intervened. Wakad police has filed a case against 13 people under various sections of social boycott.
Sitaram Krishna Sagare has lodged a complaint. According to it case against Karppa Maruti Waghmare, Bajirao Waghmare and other people has been filed.
Sitaram Sagare got married to Shital Bhore in January. However, Shital went to her maidan home after some arguments with the family in March. Sagare filed a separation case against Shital in the family court. When the community came to know about it, they boycotted the family.

Apparently, the maternal uncle and grandfather of the girl are the members of Jaat Panchyat. A case also has been filed against the maternal uncle for boycotting the girl. Sagare family has been excluded from all functions and other rituals that take place among the relatives and family members.
