Pune, 25th August 2025: Tension erupted today in Bhekrai Nagar, Pune, during a visit by MLC Sadabhau Khot. The visit was prompted by the seizure of cattle under Crime No. 306/2025, registered at Sinhgad Road Police Station, which had been housed at Dwarkadhish Gaushala. As per a court order, the cattle were to be returned to the applicants, prompting Khot to visit the site along with police officials and local farmers.
On arrival, however, the cattle were reportedly not present at the Gaushala. While addressing the media, Khot was confronted by cow protector Rishikesh Kamte and several others, who demanded that their concerns be heard. As Khot attempted to leave, the insistence of the group intensified, creating a tense situation.
Police officers, including Sub-Inspector Chavan, Assistant Sub-Inspector Malusare, Constable Khande, Sub-Inspector Jadhav, and other personnel intervened promptly to manage the situation. Thanks to their timely action, no physical confrontation occurred, and order was restored.
Speaking to the media after the incident, MLC Khot expressed his strong displeasure:
“If I am attacked while speaking about farmers’ issues, the government must act immediately. A large lobby has been created in the state under the guise of cow protection. If the government does not take action against it, we will be forced to set up protest camps in front of police stations,” he warned.
