Accident causes traffic congestion on Mumbai-Bangalore Highway in Balewadi area

Balewadi, February 15, 2021: Four vehicles crashed in front of the main entrance of Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in the Balewadi-Mahalunge area on Monday (February 15) at around 10 am, causing traffic congestion on the Mumbai-Bangalore Highway.

The vehicles were damaged in the incident, however, no casualties were reported.

Four vehicles crashed with each other in front of the main entrance of Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex at around 10 am in Balewadi-Mahalunge on the Mumbai-Bangalore Highway.

A truck driver suddenly applied the brakes of his vehicle which caused three vehicles behind him to collide with the truck, the traffic police informed. The vehicles were affected in the incident.

After receiving information about the accident, Ashok Ghuge of Hinjawadi Transport Branch and ST Bawale immediately removed the damaged vehicles to the side of the road, clearing the road for other vehicles to pass through it and decongested the traffic jam.

Chhaya Borkar, Sub-Inspector of Police, Hinjawadi Police said that no complaint has been lodged in this regard.
