Accident Claims Life of Two-Wheeler Rider on Bajirao Road in Pune
Sadashiv Peth, 25th December 2023: A fatal accident in front of Rana Pratap Udyan on Bajirao Road, resulted in the death of a two-wheeler rider and injuries to a fellow passenger.
The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Gunjan Dattatray Sonwane, a resident of Kothrud, while his co-passenger, Shubham Gawande, sustained injuries in the unfortunate accident.
The incident came to light when Dilip Purohit, a 21-year-old resident of Nigdi, filed a complaint at the Khadak police station. According to the police report, the accident occurred around 2 am when Purohit was driving his car on Bajirao Road. At the same time, Sonwane and Gawande were riding their two-wheeler at a high speed.
In front of Rana Pratap Park, the speeding two-wheeler collided with a motorcycle, resulting in serious injuries to Gunjan Dattatray Sonwane. Both Sonwane and Gawande were rushed to the hospital for medical attention. Sonwane succumbed to his injuries before receiving treatment.
Police Sub-Inspector Vinay Jadhav is conducting further investigation.
