Accident on Pune-Solapur Highway Claims Woman’s Life and Injures Her Daughter
Kunjirwadi, 28th June 2023: A devastating incident unfolded today morning when a high-speed fuel tanker collided with a two-wheeler rider on the Pune-Solapur highway. The collision resulted in the unfortunate death of a woman riding the two-wheeler, while a school girl who was accompanying her sustained severe injuries. The accident caused significant disruption to the traffic flow on the Pune-Solapur highway for a period of time.
The deceased has been identified as Yogita Rajkumar Gavane, aged 35, residing in Hole Complex, Uruli Kanchan, Pune-Solapur Road.
According to the police, Surekha Rajkumar Gavane, a 16-year-old school girl, suffered critical injuries in the accident and is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital.
Yogita Gavane had left for work at approximately 8:00 am on Wednesday morning. While traveling on the Pune-Solapur highway near Kunjirwadi, their two-wheeler was struck by a speeding fuel tanker. The impact of the collision resulted in severe injuries to Yogita and her daughter Surekha. Both victims were promptly rushed to the hospital, but sadly, Yogita succumbed to her injuries before receiving treatment.
Following the accident, traffic on the Pune-Solapur highway experienced disruptions, necessitating police intervention to restore the flow towards Pune.
