Loan App Extortion: Woman Extorted Over 1 Lakh Rupees After Borrowing 3,000 Rupees In Pune

Camp, 28th June 2023: What was intended as a small loan of three thousand rupees turned into a nightmare for a young woman. Shockingly, it has been revealed that after borrowing a mere three thousand rupees through a loan app, the woman was coerced into paying a staggering amount of one lakh eleven thousand rupees under the threat of defamation. Pune City Police have swiftly registered a case in response to the incident.

The victim, a young woman, approached the Lashkar police station to file a formal complaint. She was in urgent need of three thousand rupees and decided to borrow the amount through a loan app on her mobile device. As expected, the requested sum was promptly credited to her account. However, shortly afterward, she received a call from an unknown individual who initiated a series of threats against her. The perpetrator threatened to defame her, promising to disseminate explicit messages and photographs.

Over time, the accused managed to extort a total of one lakh eleven thousand rupees from the victim, capitalizing on her fear and vulnerability. The terrified woman succumbed to the threats, repeatedly paying the demanded amounts. Eventually, she sought refuge at the Lashkar police station, where the Police promptly registered a case against the unidentified mobile user.

Inspector Priyanka Shelke has been assigned to investigate the matter.
