Administration Appeals Tourists Not To Visit Ghat Areas Of Pune, Mumbai, Satara And Raigad On July 11, Monday; Red Alert Issued

Pune, 10th July 2022: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains on July 11 in the ghat sections areas of Pune, Mumbai, Raigad and Satara districts. Accordingly, a red alert has been issued.

Heavy rains are expected on the hill tops of the ghat sections of Pune district on Monday. The administration has already appealed to tourists to avoid going to hill tops to enjoy the monsoons as the rains over the last few days have caused landslides in many areas.

More than a hundred tourists who had gone hiking to Kalsubai peak in Nagar district were stranded due to floods in Krishnavanti river. They were rescued by the locals. Rivers and streams are likely to be flooded due to sudden heavy rains. Therefore, tourists should be careful.

Some trekkers were missing in the Bhimashankar area. They were traced back late evening today.
