AFMC Pune Inaugurates Aarogya Vardhini Kendra for Enhanced Public Healthcare

Wanowrie, 17th February 2024: In a significant step towards advancing public healthcare, the Aarogya Vardhini Kendra / Urban Health Training Centre was inaugurated by Lt. Gen. Narendra Kotwal, AVSM, SM, VSM, Director and Commandant, Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune on February 16, 2024.
Dr. Usha Tapase, RMO of the Cantonment Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Speciality and Critical Care Hospital, and Dr. Prakash Bhosale, Medical Officer, National Urban Health Mission (NUHM), were also present on the occasion. Located at Wanowrie Bazar, this state-of-the-art facility symbolizes the commitment of AFMC, Pune, and Cantonment Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Speciality and Critical Care Hospital to enhancing health and well-being in the community.
Specialist officers from AFMC will be available at the center to provide preventive, promotive, and curative healthcare services addressing the healthcare needs of the community holistically. In addition, general OPD services will be provided by the Maharashtra State Health Services under NUHM. The center is one of the community outreach initiatives of the Department of Community Medicine, AFMC, Pune.
