Pune, 17 February 2024: “Yoga for Stress Management and Holistic Wellness” program was organized for Indian Army soldiers on Friday. Led by Sadhguru, the Founder of Isha Foundation, and Lt Gen Ajai Kumar Singh, GOC-in-C Southern Command, Indian Army, the event saw participation from over 10,000 soldiers and their families.

The program, held at the Milkha Singh Sports Complex, aimed to introduce soldiers to the benefits of Classical Hatha Yoga. Over 11,000 soldiers from 23 locations across 9 states underwent a week-long training conducted by Isha Hatha Yoga teachers.

Expressing his gratitude, Sadhguru highlighted the privilege of supporting the forces, while Lt Gen Ajai Kumar Singh commended the positive impact of yoga on soldiers’ well-being.

Started last year, the collaboration between Isha and the Southern Command aims to provide holistic wellness to soldiers facing high-stress situations. Trained by 56 Isha Hatha Yoga teachers, soldiers in various states experienced increased calmness, joy, and focus after just seven days of training.

“Impressed by the results, the Indian Army requested similar programs for other commands, with Isha now extending its training to locations under the Central and Eastern Commands,” said Sadhguru.
