From Hospital Escape to Handcuffs: Pune Police Arrest Accused Lilakar in Abusive Social Media Case
Pune, 17th February 2024: The Pune police have arrested Marshal Louis Lilakar, who had escaped from Sassoon Hospital custody on February 11, around 2:30 am. Lilakar was arrested for the alleged social media abuse of Swati Mohol, the wife of notorious gangster Sharad Mohol who was shot dead on 5th January in Kothrud.
The incident took place when an obscene reel targeting Swati Mohol surfaced on social media. Promptly, the police launched an investigation, leading to the identification and subsequent arrest of Lilakar.
Lilakar had reportedly complained of chest pain in the morning, leading to his medical examination at Sassoon Hospital. Seizing the opportunity, he managed to escape from the hospital’s custody. In response, Cyber Police Station and Crime Branch teams were dispatched to Neral and Karjat to trace the fugitive.
As the search progressed, the Cyber Police received crucial information indicating that Lilakar had sought refuge at his aunt’s residence in Yerwada. Swiftly acting on this information, the Cyber Police team successfully apprehended Lilakar, who was then handed over to the Bundgarden police station.
