Pune, 2nd February 2026: The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, is set to host ARMEDiCON 2026, the 74th Annual Armed Forces Medical Conference, from February 4 to 6, 2026. Recognised as the country’s only multispecialty armed forces medical forum, the conference provides a premier platform for professional interaction, academic exchange, and collaborative research among medical, dental, and nursing personnel of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force.

ARMEDiCON 2026 underscores the Armed Forces Medical Services’ (AFMS) commitment to institutional, multicentric, and collaborative medical research. Over the three-day event, participants will showcase scientific advancements, innovations, and best practices in healthcare. The knowledge generated is expected to benefit both military and civilian healthcare systems.

The conference, held under the patronage of Lt Gen Pankaj P Rao, Director and Commandant of AFMC Pune and Colonel Commandant of the Army Medical Corps, will feature scientific sessions, workshops, and panel discussions addressing contemporary healthcare challenges and emerging opportunities, reinforcing the AFMS vision of excellence in medical research, education, and healthcare delivery.

The event will be inaugurated by Surg VAdm Arti Sarin, Director General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS), as the Chief Guest. The inaugural session will include a keynote address by Lt Gen Pratik K Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command.

Renowned experts contributing to the deliberations include Dr Soumya Swaminathan, former Principal Scientist and Director General of ICMR, and Lt. Gen. Syed Ata Hasnain (Retd). Senior leadership from AFMS attending the conference includes:

ARMEDiCON has evolved into a key forum for strategic planning, critical evaluation, and translating medical research into clinical and operational practice. While primarily focused on the unique healthcare needs of the Armed Forces, the conference outcomes have consistently contributed to strengthening India’s national healthcare ecosystem.

The conference will also host meetings of institutional bodies such as the Armed Forces Medical Academic Committee (AFMAC), the MJAFI Governing Council, and the AFMC Management Committee, enhancing academic governance and operational efficiency within the AFMS.

Organised under the guidance of Maj Gen Atul Seth, Dean and Deputy Commandant of AFMC, ARMEDiCON 2026 is expected to catalyse meaningful advancements in medical research, policy, and service delivery, with benefits extending beyond the Armed Forces to the nation at large.
