After Leopard Attack, Pune Forest Department Asks Citizens To Be Vigilant

Pune, 26th October 2021: A 45-year-old man was attacked by a leopard near Serum Institute of India (SII) in Gosavi Vasti, Hadapsar, today morning.

Now the Pune Forest Department has appealed to people to be alert.

A few days ago, Mohammadwadi residents had informed the department about the sighting of the leopard but the officials had denied the presence of leopard in the area.

After today’s attack, Deputy Conservator of Forest (DCF) Rahul Patil has appealed to the citizens to be vigilant. “The Pune Forest Department is monitoring the movement of the leopard”, Patil said.

Sambhaji Baban Atode (45) of Gosavi Vasti, Gavdevi Mandir, Hadapsar, was attacked by a leopard today at around 6 am.

“The victim was in stable condition. He is undergoing treatment at Sassoon General Hospital, Pune”, he added.
