Ahilyanagar Prostitution Case: Police, Army Intelligence Raid Premises; Woman’s Husband From Bangladesh Traced
Ahilyanagar, 20th September 2026: Kotwali Police, in a joint operation with the Military Intelligence (MI) unit of the Army’s Southern Command, raided premises in the Dipnagar area of Kedgaon on Saturday and booked two people for allegedly operating a prostitution racket.
According to a press note issued by Kotwali Police, Police Inspector Nitin Deshmukh received specific information on September 19 that a woman was allegedly providing premises to women for prostitution, collecting money from customers and living on the proceeds.
Acting on the information, a joint team raided the premises at around 3.40 pm. Police identified the accused as Saida Afsar Khan, 54, a resident of Zenda Chowk, Kedgaon, and Chhoturam Narayan Rayji, 70, a resident of Kedgaon. A woman allegedly forced into prostitution was also found at the premises, police said.
“Acting on specific information, Kotwali Police and Military Intelligence, Southern Command, conducted a joint raid at Dipnagar in Kedgaon. Two accused were found at the premises along with a woman allegedly pushed into prostitution. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway,” Police Inspector Nitin Deshmukh said.
Kotwali Police registered Crime No. 913/2026 under Sections 3, 4, 5 and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.
During the inquiry, police also traced the woman’s husband, identified as MD Tutul Mulla, 37, who is stated to be a resident of Khulna district in Bangladesh. Kotwali Police and Military Intelligence officials are jointly conducting further inquiries into the matter, the press note said.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Mummaka Sudarshan, Additional Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Kalubarme and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Dilip Tiparse. The identities and current postings of the senior district officers are also reflected in official police records.
The raiding team comprised Police Inspector Nitin Deshmukh, Police Sub-Inspector Ganesh Deshmukh, Assistant Sub-Inspector Sunil Shirsat, Head Constables Santosh Lad, Rahul Shinde, Balkrishna Londhe, Deepak Rathod, Suraj Kadam, Dattatray Kotkar and Shirish Tarate; Police Constables Sandeep Kakade, Sachin Lolge and Satyam Shinde; Driver Police Constable Pote; Woman Police Naik Varsha Pandit; Woman Police Constable Pallavi Rohakale; and Mobile Cell Police Constable Rahul Gunde.
