Pune, 17th June 2024: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) will now oversee the approval of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) courses. However, AICTE has clarified that approval for course specializations and batch admission capacities will be granted solely at the university level.

Starting this academic year, the approval process for BBA, Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), and BCA courses will be managed by AICTE. In response to universities and colleges expressing interest in renaming these courses, AICTE issued a circular providing clarification on this matter.

The specialization of these courses is evolving to keep pace with new technologies and emerging fields. AICTE will only approve the basic BBA, BMS, and BCA courses. Consequently, decisions regarding course specializations and seat allocations for recognized courses will be handled at the university level based on institutional requests.

During the approval process, it was emphasized that universities will design specialization courses for these subjects. It was clarified that if AICTE approves 120 seats for a BBA course at an institution, the university can allocate these seats as 60 for BBA Retail Management, 30 for BBA Human Resources, and 30 for BBA Marketing, according to their discretion.
