Air Force Tempo Overturns in Pimpri: Traffic Chaos on Pune-Mumbai Highway
Pimpri, 30th April 2024: At the grade separator in Morwadi on the old Pune-Mumbai highway, an Air Force Tempo crashed and overturned. It is reported that while attempting to avoid a collision with a motorcycle rider, the accident occurred and the tempo overturned. A massive traffic jam ensued, with long lines of vehicles forming. This incident took place today around 2 pm.
The Air Force Tempo was travelling towards Mumbai on the old Pune-Mumbai highway when the incident occurred. While passing through Morwadi, the tempo was overtaken by a motorcycle rider. In an attempt to avoid a collision, the tempo overturned and spilt oil onto the road. The overturned tempo obstructed the road, leading to a significant traffic backlog. The traffic queues extended till Kharalwadi, stretching approximately 1 kilometre long.
The Pimpri Police and the Traffic Branch Police responded to the scene, and the fire department was summoned. The road was washed due to the spilt oil. Additionally, a crane was called in to upright the tempo.
