Air India Call Center In Pune Receives Threat Call, Caller Claims To Have Heard Plan To Hijack Delhi-Tel Aviv Flight

Pune 17th July 2023: The Air India officials working with the airline’s call center in Pune were in a shock after an unidentified caller called the helpline to inform them that he heard someone talking about hijacking the Delhi-Tel Aviv flight. The security officials of the airline were immediately put on alert and an emergency meeting of the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee was called. The incident took place on July 13.

A case in this regard has been registered with Delhi Police and the initial investigation by police found nothing suspicious so far. According to reports, an unidentified caller called the airline’s call center in Pune at around 6:05 am on July 13. He informed the officials on the call that he overheard a person talking about hijacking the Delhi-Tel Aviv flight. Delhi Police have booked an unidentified person under sections 82, 341, 505 (1) (b) and 507 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in an FIR registered at IGI Airport Police Station. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
