Pune Police Commisioner’s WhatsApp Helpline Number To Report Crime For Citizens Flooded With Irrelevant Messages
Pune 17th July 2023: The Pune City Police Commissioner Reetesh Kumaarr recently launched a WhatsApp Helpline number to provide quick help to the citizens in case of emergency. The messages are directly monitored by the commissioner besides officials sitting in the police control room responding to it.
However, the details have revealed that a large number of messages received on this WhatsApp Helpline were irrelevant. According to reports, a total of 476 messages were received between 9 and 12 July of which around 210 messages were to say ‘hi’, ‘hello’ or congratulate the police for starting the helpline number.
The WhatsApp Helpline was started with an aim to curb crime in the city, especially those pertaining to women and children. The commissioner invited complaints and feedbacks through this helpline and assured to act quickly on it.
