Ajit Pawar Calls For Treason Charges Against DRDO Scientist Kurulkar, Demands Fast-Track Trial
Pune, 19th May 2023: The senior scientist, Pradeep Kurulkar, associated with DRDO, has been arrested in connection with the ‘honey trap’ case, where he allegedly provided classified information to Pakistan. The arrest has sparked demands for treason charges and a fast-track court trial. Leader of Opposition Ajit Pawar emphasized the seriousness of the case during a meeting on Friday.
There have been discussions about Kurulkar’s alleged connection with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). State BJP President Chandrasekhar Bawankule refrained from commenting on the matter during his visit to Pune for a state working committee meeting. Meanwhile, Opposition leader Pawar, who was in Pune for a district planning committee meeting, raised concerns about the lack of discussion on the Kurulkar case. He emphasized that Kurulkar’s actions amounted to treason, and strong action must be taken against him. Pawar further called for the case to be tried in a fast-track court to ensure that those who betray the country face swift justice.
Pawar urged journalists and the public to delve deeper into Kurulkar’s associations. Without explicitly mentioning the BJP, he alluded to some individuals who intentionally remain silent when faced with such situations.
