Pune, 15th January 2022: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has called an emergency meeting regarding restrictions in the backdrop of the rising number of Coronavirus disease (COVID19) cases.

Pawar said, “Decisions regarding the state are taken by the Chief Minister as the head of state. The rules have been announced by the Chief Minister. The number of patients is increasing. Many are receiving treatment at home. If the demand for oxygen beds increases sharply and the demand for more than 700 metric tonnes of oxygen is there, then the Chief Minister cannot rule out the possibility of imposing strict restrictions in this regard.”

He also said, “The work of taking care of the health of the people of the state is going very well under the leadership of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. We are reviewing the situation.”
