Ajit Pawar Warns Companies Of Strict Action For Hiding Details Of Infected Workers

Pune, October 3, 2020: After many companies started to report Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) cases post the unlock, it has come to government official’s notice that some companies have been hiding the COVID details of their employees, fearing temporary shut down once more. Sending a clear warning to all these companies, Deputy Chief Minister and Pune District Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar stated that if any company is found withholding the COVID data and not abiding the civic administration guidelines, they will face a strict action.
“As workers in companies are getting infected. It has been observed that some companies are hiding this information to avoid the shut down of the company for a few days. The companies should follow the guideline issued by the administration to prevent the spread of Coronavirus without hiding the information. And if any company is found to be hiding the information, then action will be taken against it,” said the minister on Friday.
Pawar reviewed the current situation of Covid-19 at Vidhan Bhavan. During this review meeting, he said, “Companies should be careful not to increase the impact of Covid on workers. For this, it is essential to follow the guidelines given by the administration. The companies should be shut down if workers found affected by the Coronavirus and the details of the workers affected by the virus should not be withheld.”
Set-up Post-COVID OPDs
Pawar also directed the civic administrations to start ‘ Post-covid OPD’ in rural areas along with cities for corona-free patients and fix treatment rates for rural hospitals like cities.
He ordered to immediately launch the ‘Post Covid OPD’ for Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad cities for counselling and medical treatment of patients who have recovered from corona, Pawar said, “The number of patients recovering from the coronavirus is increasing. However, as these patients are suffering after going home, ‘Post Covid OPD’ will be started at five places for Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad. The administration should take steps to start OPD at both the Jumbo Hospitals in Pune, Sassoon Hospital, Covid Hospital in Baner and Naidu Hospital as soon as possible. These OPDs should be introduced in rural areas as well as in cities. Also, treatment rates should be fixed for hospitals in rural areas as in cities.”
Citizens need to be disciplined to prevent Corona
“My family, My Responsibility — the campaign emphasises on door-to-door surveys. Therefore, timely treatment of infected patients will help prevent infection. However, some citizens in the city are still found walking on the streets without wearing masks. Citizens need to be disciplined to prevent corona infection, ”he said.
“The number of coronavirus patients in the city is declining. However, it is necessary to increase the number of other tests including RT PCR,” suggested Mayor Muralidhar Mohol.
