Ajit Pawar’s Proposal to Sharad Pawar for Supriya Sule’s Ministerial Role at the Centre

Pune, 13th August 2023: Reports have emerged regarding a proposal discussed between Ajit Pawar and Sharad Pawar in Pune yesterday. The discussion revolved around the idea of uniting the factions within the NCP, fostering reconciliation, and potentially appointing Supriya Sule to a Union Minister position within the Central Government. However, Sharad Pawar has since rejected this proposal.

It has been revealed that a discreet meeting transpired between NCP President Sharad Pawar and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on August 13. The rendezvous occurred at the residence of renowned industrialist Atul Chordia in Koregaon Park, Pune. Despite Chordia’s denial of any such gathering, the presence of both leaders at bungalow number 73 on lane number 3 in Koregaon Park has been corroborated by attending journalists and officials. Consequently, discussions regarding the exact nature of their deliberations have sparked within political circles.

As details of the meeting slowly surface, sources have unveiled that Ajit Pawar requested Sharad Pawar to rally the remaining NCP MLAs and MPs under his banner, potentially aligning with either him or the BJP. It is purported that Ajit Pawar offered assurance to Sharad Pawar that an alliance with the BJP could secure a ministerial position at the Center.

While the meeting between Ajit Pawar and Sharad Pawar was premeditated, it initially intended to transpire at a hotel. However, the venue shifted to Chordia’s residence. Delhi had also speculated on the purpose of this visit, with sources indicating vigilance from both BJP leaders in Delhi and the state. Hence, the prospect of underlying discord spurred by communications from Delhi cannot be discounted.

During this rendezvous, the emphasis was placed on fostering party unity, minimizing any internal discord. Ajit Pawar conveyed that if all MPs and MLAs joined hands with the BJP, Supriya Sule could secure a ministerial role at the Centre. He sought Sharad Pawar’s blessings and stressed that broadcasting this message from a public platform to voters could enhance the NCP’s prospects in forthcoming elections. Nonetheless, Sharad Pawar vehemently denied these allegations.
