Thane, 25th April 2024: In a sombre incident unfolding in the Garibacha Pada area of Dombivli township, a 60-year-old man was taken into custody by local authorities on Wednesday morning, accused of the alleged murder of his son. The arrest followed a tragic altercation wherein the victim, a 30-year-old man grappling with alcohol addiction, purportedly assaulted his parents while inebriated.

According to reports from the Vishnu Nagar police station, the accused father responded to the aggression by engaging in a physical altercation with his son, ultimately resulting in the son’s demise. In an attempt to mask the gravity of the situation, the accused initially portrayed the incident as an accidental fall at home, leading to the filing of an accidental death report (ADR) by the authorities.

However, upon further investigation and a subsequent post-mortem examination, it became evident that the victim had sustained injuries consistent with physical assault and strangulation. Consequently, the accused father was apprehended by law enforcement on Wednesday night, and charges under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code have been levied against him.

This tragic turn of events underscores the complex dynamics surrounding alcohol addiction and familial conflicts, highlighting the dire consequences that can arise from such situations. As the legal proceedings unfold, authorities continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the incident to ensure justice for the victim and accountability for the accused.
