All Schools, Colleges, Coaching Classes Closed In Pune District Till March 14

Pune, 28 February 2021: The Pune district administration has taken an important step today amid mounting cases of coronavirus disease (COVID19). All schools, coaching classes and colleges in the Pune district have been closed till 14 March. Also, people will not be allowed to leave the house from 11 pm to 6 am except for essential services, District Collector Rajesh Deshmukh has issued an order in this regard.

“Online classes will continue. Also, education officials will make sure that studies of 10th and 12th class students are not affected. Planned examinations can be held by following COVID prevention guidelines”, the order states.

With the addition of 1505 fresh Coronavirus positive yesterday, the total number of COVID cases has reached 4,06,453 in the Pune district. Also, 1087 patients got discharged from hospitals while 13 people died.

Dr Bhagwan Pawar, District Health Officer (DHO), said that out of a total of 4,06,453 patients 3,87,527 have been cured and discharged from hospitals, while 9235 people have died. There are still 9860 active patients undergoing treatment in different hospitals, also out of 9860, 5988 are Home Isolated. Most of the patients are from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area. Till now 23,05,633 people have been tested in the district.

A day earlier, the lockdown was extended by a week in the Amravati district of Maharashtra. In this way, the lockdown has been implemented in Amravati till March 8 now. All schools, shops and colleges in the district have been closed. Only essential items are allowed there.
