Amar FC knock out eleventh hour entry of COEP at the 21st guru Tegh Bahadur gold cup football tournament

Pune, January 10, 2023: Yash Pawar set one goal and himself scored one as Amar FC beat COEP, who entered at the eleventh hour, winning 4-1, in the second round match of the 21st guru Tegh Bahadur gold cup football tournament at the COEP ground in Shivajinagar here on Tuesday and made it to the pre-quarterfinal of the long running tournament.

Amar FC went 1-0 up in the 3rd minute when Gourav Swaminathan scored on a pass from Shivam More. Yash Pawar then came into form breaking through the COEP defense to find Ashutosh Yadav in the right place to score in the sixth minute of the match.

On changing the ends Sahil Jagtapfound Sven Montero rightly placed to score for 3-0 lead. COEP then reduced the margin through Siddharth Hedaooin the 4st minute on a pass from Aditya Joshi.

In the second match of the day Fatima XI rode on Edwin Anthony’s 10th minute goal on a pass from Ansen D’Souza to beat Swaraj FC by the military goal.
