Pune – The first day of filling nominations on Friday for the upcoming elections for the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) saw zero response.

It was Amawasya so the candidates didn’t file nominations as they are waiting for the ‘shubh mihurrat’.

Even though Saturday and Sunday are holidays, the candidates can submit their nominations on these days.

The last date filling nominations for the two civic bodies is February 3.

Also almost all major political parties are yet to declare candidates as they are busy with alliance discussions.

The Shiv Sena and BJP has decided to go solo, while Congress and NCP are still talking to each other. The MNS and Republican party are yet to take a call on their alliance partner or support to any party.
