Angry Over Merger With PMC, Miscreants Damage ‘I Love Narhe’ Selfie Point Sign

Pune, December 24, 2020: Notification by Maharashtra state government about merging of 23 villages with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has triggered an expectation of development in these villages.

Amidst this, there were villages like Narhe which has seen some initiatives of development in terms of new roads, road widening and development of water tank. However, after the merger notification some miscreants vandalized ‘I Love Narhe’ sign which was created to embellish the Narhe entrance with plush green grass.

A CCTV footage has recorded the incident. Four youths can be seen at the spot and one of them damages ‘I Love Narhe’ selfie point sign. The incident took place at midnight. A paper found at the spot reads “Your time is over, now our time has come”.

Sagar Bhumkar, who took efforts for various development including ‘I love Narhe’ sign, has lodged a complaint with Sinhgad road police station, Pune police.

Sagar said, “Such negative actions will not deter my development initiatives at Narhe. Now the next phase is the embellishment of Bhumkar Bridge.”
