Apple to Open New Stores in Pune and Noida, Expanding Retail Presence in India

Pune, 24th April 2025: Apple Inc. is set to expand its retail footprint in India with the launch of two new stores—one in Noida and another in Pune—as part of the second phase of its retail expansion strategy.
According to a report by the Financial Express, the Cupertino-based tech giant has finalised the locations at DLF Mall of India in Noida and Kopa Mall in Pune for its third and fourth official stores in the country.
Currently, Apple operates two flagship stores in India—one at Select Citywalk Mall in Delhi and the other at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai. These two outlets reportedly generated a combined revenue of ₹800 crore in their first year, with the smaller Saket store contributing 60% of the sales.
If the plans proceed as expected, the new Noida store will mark Apple’s second retail outlet in the Delhi-NCR region. The Pune store at Kopa Mall will be Apple’s first official store in Maharashtra’s cultural capital.
In addition to the confirmed locations, Apple is reportedly scouting for two more store sites in Mumbai and Bengaluru, which will bring the total number of Apple Stores in India to six. The company has already posted over 20 retail-related job listings on LinkedIn, suggesting active recruitment for the upcoming outlets.
The expansion was first hinted at in October 2024 by Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Retail. Since then, Apple has been ramping up its hiring efforts, with around 400 new employees expected to be added across the new stores. The existing stores in Delhi and Mumbai employ roughly 90 to 100 staff members each, and similar staffing levels are anticipated for the new locations.
Industry experts believe Apple’s retail growth in India reflects the company’s increasing focus on the South Asian market, which continues to show strong demand for premium smartphones and electronics.
