Army Recruitment Exam Paper Leak Case: Major Rank Officer Arrested, Two Officers Under Scanner

Pune, 7th March 2021: The Crime Branch of Pune city police on Saturday picked up an Indian Army Major rank officer from Wellington in Tamil Nadu in connection with the soldier (general duty) examination paper leak case. The officer was brought to Pune today and formally arrested.
Pune Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta said, “This is a new arrest in this case. As we are investigating the case, it would not be appropriate to give further details at this time.”
According to police, the Army officer is suspected to have sent question papers to one of the arrested accused in the case registered with the Wanwadi police station. The arrest brings the total number of accused to nine in two separate cases. The other case is registered at Vishrantwadi police station.
Meanwhile, the names of two more officers have come up in the inquiry of the arrested officer. “More arrests are expected in the next few days”, an officer said.
