Asmita Hockey: Pune encash Parnavi strike, down Mumbai Suburb enter SF

Pune, 8th March 2025: Pune, Nagpur and Yavatmal remained unbeaten recording their second win and made it to the semi-finals on the Day-2 in the Sub Junior Category of Asmita Hockey State League, at the Major Dhyanchand Hockey Stadium, Nehrunagar-Pimpri, on Saturday.

Pune for the second consecutive day scored their elusive match-winner by Parnavi Kanse (54’) in the fourth quarter of the game to win their second match of Group-A. At half-time both Pune and Mumbai Suburb were locked goalless (0-0).

Earlier in a Group-A, Thane struck back after losing their first match against Pune to defeating Nashik 8-0, the biggest win of the tournament. The win was masterminded by captain Advita Kamble (21’, 30’ & 57’) who netted three goals. The other scorers were Aditi Sahetty (6’ & 15’), Shagun Sharma (15’), Sharanya Dangat (33’) and Tithi Thakur (59’).

In earlier matches in the day, Nagpur and Yewatmal scored their second wins on the trot in Group-B.

Nagpur downed Raigad 3-1 with Bhargavi Urkudkar (7′ & 26′) netting a brace of goals while Samrudhi Barve (11′) added the other. Raigad pulled one back via Alina Ansari (34’). In their first match Nagpur got past Sangli.

Later, Yavatmal pipped Sangli after Harshada Pandhare (36’) scored the winner. In the first match Yavatmal put aside Raigad.
