At 11 PM, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar Drops In at Yerawada Police Station
Yerawada, 19th September 2026: Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar visited the Yerawada Police Station at around 11 pm on Saturday as part of his Ganeshotsav engagements. During the visit, he performed the aarti of Lord Ganesha at the police station and interacted with citizens present there.
Following information about the Commissioner’s visit, a large number of local residents, elected representatives, office-bearers of various political parties and coordinators of the Vighnaharta Trust gathered at the police station.
After the aarti, Kumar interacted with the citizens and appreciated Senior Police Inspector Umesh Gitte and the Yerawada police team for securing broad public cooperation for celebrating Dahi Handi without DJs and Eid-e-Milad peacefully and in an atmosphere of communal harmony.
The Commissioner congratulated the Yerawada police team for its efforts and wished them success in their future work.
Meanwhile, social worker Monica Sharma and her team, who have been conducting awareness campaigns and other initiatives against noise pollution in the Kalyani Nagar area, prepared a handwritten message appreciating the work carried out by the Yerawada police in the area.
The message was presented by Commissioner Kumar to Senior Police Inspector Gitte and his colleagues.
Citizens present on the occasion appreciated the Yerawada police for engaging directly with residents, understanding their concerns, taking legal and effective measures, and working to build public confidence.
The programme concluded with citizens expressing their wishes for the Yerawada Police Station to continue its people-oriented approach based on the principles of public trust, police service and respect for the law.
