Attention Pimpri Chinchwad Residents: Your Police Station May Have Changed – Find Out Now

Pimpri Chinchwad, 8th February 2025: Recently, 12 new police stations were introduced in the Pune District, out of which 8 belong to the Pune City Police Commissionerate and 4 to the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC). With all the police stations now operational, the jurisdictions have changed. It is imperative for people to know which police station serves their area.

Four new police stations were formed in Pimpri Chinchwad to address the growing population and increasing crime rate in the area. The new stations were established to improve law enforcement coverage, enhance public safety, and provide better policing services to the rapidly expanding industrial city.

Residents typically approach the police for various needs, including reporting crimes, lost items, official purposes, certifications, providing statements, and more. Below are the new police stations for the residents of Pimpri Chinchwad:

1. Sant Tukaram Nagar Police Station: Formed from the split of Pimpri Police Station, it is headed by Senior Police Inspector Gorakh Kumbhar. Major areas under this station include Sant Tukaram Nagar, Nehru Nagar, Ajmera Colony, Tukaram Masulkar Colony, and Morwadi. Notably, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s (PCMC) main building also falls under this jurisdiction. The police station is located near Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital, very close to the Pimpri Chinchwad Fire Brigade Main Office in Sant Tukaram Nagar and is part of Zone 1.

2. Kalewadi Police Station: Formed from the split of Wakad Police Station, it is headed by Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Bahirat. Major areas include the entire Kalewadi, Rahatani, and parts of Thergaon. The Aundh Ravet BRTS Road serves as a border; areas towards the east fall under this station while those opposite remain under Wakad. The police station is located in the former building of Thergaon Police Chowky in Zone 2.

3. Dapodi Police Station: Established from the split of Bhosari Police Station, it is headed by Senior Police Inspector Nilesh Waghmare. Major areas include Kasarwadi, Phugewadi, Dapodi, Ram Nagar in Bopkhel, and Nashik Phata. Harris Bridge marks the end of this police station’s jurisdiction as well as that of the entire PCPC. The police station is located in front of the College of Military Engineering (CME), Pune, and falls under Zone 1.

4. Bavdhan Police Station: Formed from the split of Hinjawadi Police Station, it is led by Senior Police Inspector Anil Vibhute. Major areas include Bhugaon, Bhukum, Lavale, Pirangut, Chande, Nande, Mhalunge, and the western area of Balewadi. Notably, Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi is under this police station’s jurisdiction. The police station is located on NDA Pashan Road near the Bramha Building and comes under Zone 2.
