Karla/Pune, 25th August 2022: Allopathy and Homeopathy treatments only think about the body, but going a step ahead Ayurveda also considers body and the mind, thus helps in spiritual upliftment, said Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Thursday while paying glowing tributes to Ayurveda legend Padmashree Dr Balaji Tambe for his enormous work after unveiling his bust at the Atmasantulana Village in Karla in Pune district.

Veena Tambe, Chairperson Balaji Tambe Foundation, Dr Malvika Tambe, Managing Director, Balaji Tambe Healthcare, Sunil Tambe, Santulan Ayurved India Managing Director and Sanjay Tambe, Santulan Ayurveda Germany Managing Director were present on the occasion.

“Ayurveda along with physical treatment, it also cures our mind. With mental well-being, it helps in spiritual upliftment. Today, we unveiled Dr Balaji Tambe’s bust and I am confident that Dr Malvika Tambe and her colleagues will successfully carry forward his legacy,” Koshyari said while also stressing how Ayurveda helped him in his life.

“Importance of Ayurvedic treatment, Yoga and mediation is increasing in foreign countries in recent years. Many Indians are learning this treatment and practicing it in foreign countries. Even people there are accepting meditation and Yoga for mental well-being. However, in our own country, people are still not giving due importance to this therapy,” added Koshyari.

“For balanced lifestyle, we must know the importance of Yoga, Ayurveda and meditation,” remarked the Governor.

MP Shriniwas Patil, Raigad MP Sunil Tatkare and Maval MP Shrirang Barne, who were also present, were also effusive in their praise for Dr Balaji Tambe and his family.

“Dr Tambe by profession was an Ayurveda doctor, by education he was an engineer but by behavior he was a social worker,” Patil said.

Barne said Dr Tambe and his family ensured that the Lonavala region, which was known as a tourist spot, became a hub for Ayurveda.

Tatkare recalled that NCP chief Sharad Pawar and Shiv Sena founder late Balasaheb Thackeray, two persons with different political ideologies, had taken treatment at the Santulana Ayurveda and it showed the power of Ayurveda.

“If any new diseases crops up in the future, I am sure that the team at the Balaji Tambe Foundation will work towards finding a solution,” quipped Tatkare.

Dr Malvika Tambe presented the opening remarks while Sunil Tambe expressed vote of thanks.

The programme was moderated by Vasundhara Kashikar.
