Baramati: Wife Dies By Suicide After Wedding Anniversary; Husband Arrested
Pune, 29th May 2021: An FIR has been registered against a man and his family in Sangavi village in Baramati taluka, after his wife died by suicide due to mental and physical harassment. The incident took place on the next day of the anniversary of the couple.
Sunil Yadav, father of the married woman had filed an FIR in Baramati taluka police Station against the husband and his family along with his two sisters. They have been charged under abetment for Suicide. The husband was arrested right away by the police and the search for other family members is on.
According to police, the husband (Abhishek) used to harass his wife (Gitanjali) mentally and physically. His family and sisters too had their hands in making Gitanjali take this extreme step. Police said that the paternal family of Gitanjali abused her and her father for not being able to pay enough dowry.
Abhishek and his family abused her father and also demanded that she bring Rs one lakh and more gold along with other things from her maternal home.
