Pune, 21st May 2021: The Secondary and Higher Secondary Maharashtra State Education director D G Jagtap has appealed to the parents and students not to believe in the rumour about the starting of the class 11th admission in Maharashtra State. Fake news is in circulation in various social media groups regarding the beginning of the admission process to class 11.

Apparently, the fake news says that the students need to fill a google form for registration for admission to class 11 for the academic year 2021-22. However, the education director has said that the Education directorate has not issued any such form.

The Maharashtra State government has a cancelled Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination this year owing to the rising cases of Covid-19 in the State.

The admission for class 11 in Maharashtra is done through Centralised Admission process for Mumbai MMR, Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, Nagpur, Nashik, Aurangabad and Amravati. Generally, this process begins after SSC results are out.

This year since there was no examination and Maharashtra has not taken any decision regarding the admission to class 11, the process has not been started.

Jagtap said that the directorate office will issue the notification after getting clear directives from Maharashtra Government. Till then no admission process has started and no one should believe in fake news circulating on various social media.
