Bhigwan: Three dead and 2 injured in a collision of a Fortuner and a tractor
Pune, February 8, 2021: Three people from Latur died on the spot and two others were injured in a tragic accident in which a Fortuner SUV collided with a tractor-trailer carrying sugarcane. The dead and injured belonged to the same family. The accident was so horrific that the Fortuner and its passengers had to be pulled out with the help of a crane.
The accident took place at Bhigwan on Pune-Solapur Highway on Sunday midnight. Geeta Arun Mane (36), Mukund Arun Mane (25) and Arun Baburao Mane (45, resident of Latur, Latur district) died in the accident. Arun Mane (18) and Mahadev Rakhmaji Netke (56, Latur) are injured.
The tractor was traveling towards Solapur while the Fortuner was travelling from the same road. It sped off in the same direction and collided with the trailer from behind. The SUV was smashed in this terrible accident. The bodies had to be removed with the help of a crane. The injured were rushed to Bhigwan and Pune for treatment, but three died before resuscitation could be attempted. The injured are currently undergoing treatment.
Further investigation is being conducted by Sub-Inspector of Police Subhash Rupanwar under the guidance of Assistant Inspector of Police Jeevan Mane.
