Bhutan King Jigme Wangchuck To Begin His Three-Day India Tour From April 3

New Delhi, 1st April 2023: Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, the King of Bhutan, will officially visit India from April 3 to April 5. According to a press release from the Ministry of External Affairs, he will be accompanied by top members of the Royal Government of Bhutan as well as Dr Tandi Dorji, Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade.

The King of Bhutan is visiting following a long-standing practice of frequent high-level interactions between the two nations, and he will have meetings with President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi while there.

S. Jaishankar, the minister of external affairs, and other top officials will meet with the king of Bhutan. Bhutan and India have special friendship and cooperation ties based on mutual respect and confidence. According to the press release, the visit would give both parties a chance to evaluate their complete scope of bilateral cooperation and advance their close bilateral relationship, including their economic and development cooperation.

A parliamentary delegation from Bhutan, headed by Wangchuk Namgyel, Speaker of the National Assembly of Bhutan, visited President Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan earlier in February 2023.
