Bihar : Indian Air Force spearhead relief work to help flood victims

Sitamarhi, July 24, 2019 : In a prompt response to a request by the Govt of Bihar, Central Air Command has deployed two helicopters at Darbhanga for providing succour to the flood affected victims in the districts of Darbhanga, Sitamarhi and Madhubani. Incessant rains in North Bihar have adversely affected approximately 10 Lakh families in the three districts with water breaching the river banks at numerous places. A joint assessment of the situation was undertaken between the civil authorities and IAF pilots.

 

Food packets and relief material are already being air dropped in the affected areas. This effort would continue to increase in the coming days and IAF will leave no stone unturned to ensure that air support is rendered to civil populace in the affected areas.
