Bihar Mela Concludes: A Grand Presentation of Bihar’s Rich Heritage in Pune

Pune, 23rd March 2025: The Bihar Foundation Pune organized a grand Bihar Mela today at Ga Di Madgulkar Natya Griha, Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune, on the occasion of Bihar Diwas. The event, held under the guidance of the Bihar Government and the Department of Industries, received tremendous support from the Bihari community and the local populace.
The mela showcased Bihar’s rich cultural heritage, offering a splendid glimpse of traditional Bihari cuisine, art, and handicrafts. Captivating cultural performances by renowned folk artists and singers provided the audience with a vivid experience of Bihar’s cultural glory.
Distinguished guests, community leaders, and prominent personalities attended the event, adding to its grandeur. Their presence inspired and honored the Bihari community residing in Maharashtra. The event was graced by notable figures such as Gopal Ji Thakur, Member of Parliament from Darbhanga, Bihar; Shrirang Barne, Member of Parliament from Maval, Pune; Ashutosh Shankar Singh, Treasurer, BJP Bihar Unit; Shweta Shalini, BJP Spokesperson; Ravi Shankar Srivastava, Income Tax Commissioner, Mumbai; Rahul Ranjan Mahival (IAS), Chairman, Bihar Foundation, Pune; S.K. Singh, IRS; K.K. Mishra, IRS; Raghubir Shelar; Deepak Bhondwe, and other eminent personalities.
“Bihar has always been a land of knowledge and learning, where universities like Nalanda and Vikramshila illuminated the world with education. It fills me with pride to see our culture celebrated with such zeal and enthusiasm,” said MP Thakur.
“In recent years, Bihar’s economic and industrial progress has been commendable. Such events not only help preserve our cultural heritage but also provide a platform to discuss Bihar’s bright future and potential. He also elaborated on Maharashtra’s culture,” said MP Barne.
Ravi Shankar Srivastava, Senior Government Officer, added, “The talent and hard work of the people of Bihar have made significant contributions to India’s progress. This festival reflects our deep-rooted connection to Bihar and our commitment to developing it into a prosperous state.”
