Pune, January 14, 2021: Symptoms of bird flu have been found in poultry birds in some districts of Maharashtra. In case of accidental death of birds like crows, parrots, chickens, or sick, infected birds in the forest area of the district, the nearest forest department office should be contacted immediately. For this, the coordinating officer appointed by the department has been instructed to take necessary action in coordination with the taluka level animal husbandry officer.

Outbreaks of bird flu have been reported in Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Kerala, and Madhya Pradesh. Also in Maharashtra, the results of the investigation have been positive in some places. In that context, the news is being spread on various newspapers, television channels, as well as social media. Measures are being taken by the Forest Department to prevent the spread of bird flu.

The forest department has identified places where the reservoirs are located. Also, one forest ranger has been appointed by the forest department near the water body and it is being reviewed by the department. The Forest Range Officer and the Taluka Animal Husbandry Officer are coordinating the action. If there are reservoirs or water bodies in your area and sick or migratory birds are coming to these reservoirs, they should immediately contact the Forest Department or Animal Husbandry Department.
