Pune, 5th April 2024: As the Lok Sabha elections approach, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its efforts in Pune, nominating former mayor Murlidhar Mohol as its candidate for the Pune Lok Sabha constituency. With a robust campaign strategy in place, BJP aims to secure a resounding victory, targeting a significant increase of 370 votes in each booth.

A major highlight of BJP’s campaign is the “Ghar Chalo Abhiyan,” scheduled to take place on April 6 and 7, coinciding with the party’s 44th anniversary. This campaign aims to mobilize around ten to twelve lakh voters across the city and rally support for Mohol’s candidature. Over 10,000 BJP workers are set to participate in this massive outreach initiative, informed Dhiraj Ghate, Pune city president of BJP.

“April 6 will witness a special contact campaign organized by Pune City BJP, where over 3 lakh households will be visited to garner support for Mohol. BJP state president Chandrasekhar Bawankule, Minister Chandrakantada Patil, and MP Medha Kulkarni and all MLAs”, Ghate announced these plans during a press conference today.

“The campaign strategy, unveiled by state vice president Rajesh Pande and Pune Lok Sabha Election Incharge Srinath Bhimale, aims to realize the slogan “Ab ki bar 400 par” by increasing voter turnout and support for BJP”. Ghate emphasized that BJP aims to elevate its performance by boosting voter engagement and strengthening its grassroots presence.

To achieve this goal, BJP plans to organize gatherings of party booth level workers and panna chiefs at the assembly level, with a focus on reviewing past voting data to set voting targets. Various activities will be undertaken to increase voter turnout, including direct voter outreach, house-to-house campaigns, and targeted group meetings for youth and women.

Under the leadership of Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakantada Patil, meetings of various BJP fronts and alliances were conducted in Pune city to review election preparations and mobilize support from diverse segments of society. Ghate stressed the importance of conveying the achievements and plans of the Modi government to voters and encouraging them to cast their votes.

Expressing confidence in Mohol’s candidacy, Ghate reiterated the BJP’s commitment to delivering development and progress for Pune. With the support of coalition partners like Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Republican Party of India (A), and Rashtriya Samaj Party, BJP aims to secure a decisive victory in the upcoming elections.
