BJP releases list of candidates for by-elections; Not Naqvi, Nirhua was brought down

New Delhi, 4 June 2022: Ghanshyam Lodhi and Dinesh Lal Yadav have got tickets from Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, CM Manik Saha from Tripura, Rajesh Bhatia from Delhi and Gangotri Kujur will contest from Jharkhand on BJP ticket.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released the list of its candidates for the Lok Sabha and Assembly by-elections. Ghanshyam Lodhi and Dinesh Lal Yadav will contest from Uttar Pradesh, CM Manik Saha from Tripura, Rajesh Bhatia from Delhi and Gangotri Kujur from Jharkhand.

BJP has made Ghanshyam Lodhi its candidate for Rampur seat. On the other hand, in Azamgarh Lok Sabha seat, the party has given ticket to Bhojpuri star and former candidate Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirhua’. Nirhua, who had contested from Azamgarh on the lotus symbol, started seeking votes even before this announcement.

While releasing the poster on Twitter on Friday, Nirhua appealed to vote on the lotus mark. He wrote, “Jati dharam na kawano bharam na kawano manbad ke ke ke liye. Lotus button dabiye” brother for your Azamgarh.

Earlier in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Dinesh Lal Yadav was defeated by Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav from Azamgarh seat. At the same time, in 2014, BJP candidate Ramakant Yadav lost the election from this seat to SP Patron Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Ghanshyam Lodhi will be BJP candidate from Rampur

BJP, which fell vacant from the Rampur Lok Sabha seat, has declared Ghanshyam Lodhi as the party’s candidate for the by-election. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has decided to give a walkover to the Rampur Lok Sabha seat vacated by Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan, who has been elected to the assembly. According to sources, a member of Khan’s family is likely to contest the by-poll from Rampur Lok Sabha seat.
