Pune, 21st May 2021: After a long struggle over Remdesivir injections, getting ‘Amphotericin B’ has become the new problem. It is needed to treat Mucormycosis patients but, according to the Pune district administration, they are out of stock for now. Currently, there are about 294 patients of this disease in Pune.

Pune District Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh said that there was no stock of Amphotericin B (Liposomal) 50 mg, thus, there was no distribution to the hospitals as well. However, 38 vials of Posaconazole 300 mg Inj, 11 bottles of Posaconazole Suspension, and 138 strips of Posaconazole tablets have been distributed to the hospitals. The concerned hospitals have to purchase these medicines from the distributors/stockists mentioned in front of their names (in the list below) at the appropriate rate, as per the government and use only for the patients concerned.

Deshmukh also clarified that as it is being distributed through the Collectorate; the friend/relative of the patient should not be sent to the stockist/ medical shop/ government office for demand by giving a prescription.

The hospital wise list of these medicines has been made available on the website of the District Collector’s Office, Pune for the citizens on https://pune.gov.in/corona-virus-updates/

According to the district administration, it is necessary for the concerned hospital to submit the authorization letter and photo identity card of the authorized person, to the wholesaler along with the signature stamp on the letterhead of the working hospital. Ensuring this, the wholesalers have to distribute the medicine properly within the time limit of the order and at government / reasonable rates.

“Medicines have not been allotted to government hospitals in today’s distribution. However, government hospitals should procure medicines from the District Civil Surgeon. If these medicines are not sufficient, the next day’s demand should be reported separately in the Google Form”, said Deshmukh, who is also the chairman of District Disaster Management Authority.

How to get medicines, injections for Mucormycosis in Pune?

District administration has released a Google Form (https:/tinyurl.com/mmdpdh) and the hospitals have to fill in the details about their requirements for tablets, injections by 5 pm every day. As per supply, the medicines will be distributed on the next day. Only hospitals can fill in the details and not the relatives of the patients.
