Bombay HC Grants Bail To Man Arrested For Making Bombs To Target Sunburn Festival In Pune

Pune 6th Oct 2023: The Bombay High Court has granted bail to the 44-year-old Vaibhav Raut who was arrested for allegedly making crude bombs with an intention to target Sunburn Festival in Pune in 2018. Raut was claimed to be the member of Sanatan Sanstha was arrested by Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Maharashtra after crude bombs were allegedly recovered from a godown in Nalasopara.

The court passed an order in the case on September 20 but the official order was made available today. The division bench while granting bail to the accused noted that he has been incarcerated in jail for five years and the trial is not likely to start soon. The court also stated that the godown from where the crude bombs were recovered was not owned by the accused.

It was alleged that the accused in the case had prepared the crude bombs to target Sunburn Festival in Pune and they were stored in a godown at Nalasopara and Raut’s residence.
