Bombay High Court Rejects Bail Application Of DSK; His Wife Hemanti Granted Bail

Mumbai/Pune, 17th August 2021: The Bombay High Court today granted bail to Hemanti Deepak Kulkarni, Director of DSK Group of Companies. However, the court rejected the bail application of Deepak Sakharam Kulkarni, known as DSK.

Pune city police had arrested Deepak Kulkarni and his wife Hemanti on February 17, 2018, in connection with cheating the investors of Rs 2,000 crore. They are currently lodged in Yerwada Central Jail.

 

They had filed a bail application in the high court through advocate Aashuutosh Srivastava. The argument on the application took place in the court of Justice PD Naik on Friday and the order was reserved.

 

Today, the court granted bail to Hemanti and rejected Kulkarni’s plea. Advocate Srivastava said that they are moving the Supreme Court for Kulkarni’s bail.

 

The Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of Pune police had filed chargesheet in the case in May 2018 before the special court under the Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors (in Financial Establishments) Act [MPID Act]. The supplementary chargesheet was filed in August 2018.
