Bopodi: 27 COVID patients detected today, total number crosses 100 mark

Pune, June 10, 2020: As many as 27 patients have been found in Bopodi today, and the growing number of patients in the area is becoming a matter of concern for the administration and the residents as well. The number of patients has reached 124, and some more are yet to be reported.
No patient was found in the Bopodi area during the initial days of lockdown. Although on May 2, a woman was found Coronavirus positive and later she recovered from the diseases. During the same period, four members of a family in Chikhalwadi were found COVID-19 positive.
PMC’s Aundh ward office Assistant Commissioner Jaideep Pawar said that Survey no. 24,25,26 have been sealed completely as the cases have been found in this area of Bopodi. Also, 71 members of this area have been home quarantined. Today, 27 corona-positive patients have been identified and the number of patients in the region has crossed the century mark.
Talking to Punekarnews.in, Parusharam Wadekar, a local politician, said, “We have visited the area and have placed sanitizer box for the use of people. The area has been disinfected as well. We have barred all other entries and only one entry for emergency services has been allowed. The police department has also been deployed so that everyone follows law and order. Not only Bopodi but the fish market and the vegetable market of Aundh road has been closed. People from Bopodi and nearby localities always gather over there, resulting in zero social distancing.”
