BREAKING NEWS: Maharashtra Government Cancels HSC 2021 Exams
Mumbai, 3rd June 2021: Maharashtra government today cancelled the 12th standard examination in the state. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Disaster Management Department held today. Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Vijay Wadettiwar informed while talking to the media.
School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad had said that the 12th standard examinations were discussed in the cabinet meeting held yesterday. However, no decision was made. Speaking to the media after the meeting yesterday, Gaikwad had said, “We are sending a proposal to the disaster management department. In the current Covid situation, all decisions are being made by the Disaster Management Department. Accordingly, we have sent that file to them.”

The proposal has now been approved by the Disaster Management Department. Therefore, the cancellation of the Class XII examination has been sealed.
The decision to cancel the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class XII examination was taken at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday. Subsequently, CISCE also announced the cancellation of Class XII examination. The Uttar Pradesh government has also decided to cancel the Class X and XII examinations this academic year, saying that the safety of students is of paramount importance.
Immediately after the Centre’s decision, the Gujarat Board also decided to cancel the 12th board exams in the state. It is noteworthy that just 24 hours before this decision was taken, the Gujarat Board had announced the revised schedule of Class XII examinations. Accordingly, the 12th re-examination and external student examinations were to start from July 1. However, after the decision of the Central Government, the Gujarat Board exams have also been cancelled.
Against the backdrop of the Coronavirus disease (COVID19) outbreak, the Rajasthan Board has also decided to cancel the 10th and 12th exams.
